SafarGB Privacy Policy

SafarGB ("we", "us", "the app") is a ride-hailing and tour-booking service for Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using SafarGB you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, phone number, email address, and (for drivers) vehicle details and photos of your CNIC and driving licence. These are provided by you at sign-up or driver registration.
• Location — precise (GPS) and approximate location. For riders, to set your pickup and show nearby drivers. For drivers, while you are online, to match you with riders and share your live position with your assigned rider during a trip. Drivers' location is collected using a foreground service only while online or on a trip; it stops when you go offline.
• Ride and tour activity — pickup and drop-off points, fares, bids, trip status, ratings, and in-app chat messages related to a ride.
• Device information — a push-notification token to deliver ride alerts.

How we use your information

• To connect riders and drivers, calculate suggested fares, and route trips.
• To show live driver location and estimated arrival times during a trip.
• To let the two parties in a ride call, message, or WhatsApp each other for pickup coordination.
• To send ride, bid, and trip notifications.
• To operate ratings, support, safety features, and to prevent fraud and abuse.

What we share, and what we do not

• During a ride, the rider and driver see each other's name, rating, and (for the driver) vehicle and plate. Your phone number is shared only while a ride is active, so the other party can reach you, and not before.
• Driver CNIC and licence photos are used only for one-time manual verification and are never shown to riders.
• We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.
• We use trusted service providers to run the app: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Expo (push notifications), Google Sign-In (optional login), and OpenStreetMap-based services (maps, routing, place search). These process data only to provide their function.

Payments

Rides are paid in cash directly to the driver. SafarGB does not process card or wallet payments in the app and does not store financial account details.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and ride history while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing shieldwebservices@gmail.com from your registered email or phone; we will delete it within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal or safety reasons.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to personal data is restricted by row-level security so users can only see their own data and the limited details of an active ride's other party.

Children

SafarGB is not directed to children. Riders and drivers must be 18 or older.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
